The History Department celebrated the successful completion of the lower school exams by organising two trips. First year boys had an active day at Warwick Castle enjoying the exhibitions, scaling the ramparts to Guy’s Tower, admiring the birds of prey and learning about medieval weapons and tactics from the longbowman and the team who fired the world’s largest working trebuchet. Plenty of money seemed to change hands in the souvenir shops (Dr. May’s collection of medieval knights was successfully augmented) and boys returned home with hair-raising tales of close encounters in the Ghosts Alive tower.
