The Normans landed at Pevensey unopposed.



The Normans attacked with archers and cavalry.



William built a fleet of 3,000 ships.


The Saxons took up position on a hill.



Harold was wounded and his army collapsed.

 




 

Three horses were killed under William. He fought on.



The ships were loaded with armour and weapons.




A good wind blew the ships across the Channel.

 

The Normans hurled spears. The Saxons wielded axes.



The Saxons were killed when they left the hill top.
