THIRD YEAR
EXAM REVISION ADVICE


EXAM = 1 hour 30 minutes.

There will be TWO SECTIONS to the paper.

Section 1 = COMPULSORY: World War One = 1 hour
2 written sources and 1 photo source
5 questions (Pattern of marks - 5, 8, 9, 8, 15 = 45 marks)
Including comprehension style questions, questions using own knowledge and an essay style question using a source and your own knowledge.

REVISION ADVICE:
Revise everything in Key Issue 1 of the syllabus checklist in the front of your book
(i.e. not the Home Front.)

Section B = ONE question from a CHOICE of questions = 30 minutes
3 parts to the question (Pattern of marks: 3, 7, 10 = 20 marks)

CHOOSE ONE FROM THE FOLLOWING:
1. THE CAUSES OF THE FRENCH REVOLUTION.
Tick when you have revised:
France under the Ancien Regime (Louis XVI) - ie the system, Louis financial problems, what the economic, social and political problems were = the longer term and shorter term causes of the Revolution.
The final triggers of the Revolution (ie events in 1789)

2. EVENTS IN FRANCE FROM 1789 TO 1794 (THE TERROR).
Tick when you have revised:
What changed after the Declaration of the Rights of Man in 1789
Why Louis was executed in 1792
Why there was a period of Terror in 1793-4.
