SO: This unit relates to Section A of Paper 1. Section A is called Option W: International Relations.

We cover Option W: International Relations 1919-39 in the first half of the Michaelmas Term and Option W: International Relations 1945-63 in the Lent term.

SO: You have to choose TWO questions to answer in Section A of Paper 1. In other words you have to answer TWO questions on Option W.

In your exam booklet the Option W questions (numbered 4, 5 and 6) occur on pages 8-11. You have to choose TWO of these. Each question will focus on different years so you can choose the TWO which you are happiest with.

Each of the questions is divided into 4 sub-sections. The pattern of marks is 3, 6, 6, 10.

You are advised to spend 70 MINUTES on Section A - ie spend 35 minutes on each question.

Altogether Section A will earn you 25% of your total mark.

Remember: Section B of Paper 1 (12.5% of the total marks) is one question on
