Aim - Selection and evaluation of significant events in the First Coalition War 1793-7.

The First Coalition War was characterised by

NOTE:-
A large number of British ships were allocated to controlling the English channel (the “Wooden Walls”) and trading routes, but Britain was also the only power which sent its vessels out to attack enemy warships.

What was the combined significance of the three key sea battles fought during the First Coaltiion war? -
The Glorious First of June (1794) , the battle of Cape St. Vincent (1797) and the battle of Camperdown (1797).
