2005 Competitions -

The results of the Winter 2005 Trafalgar and Gunpowder Plot Competitions:


The entries for the recent History Competition were outstanding and the judges had a very difficult task deciding how to award the prizes.


In the LOWER SCHOOL prizes are awarded as follows:

Joint FIRST PRIZE is awarded to three boys:

James Yan for his beautiful Trafalgar painting in a homemade frame.

Thomas Salt for his outstandingly detailed written project on Trafalgar.

Tom McGivan for his excellent cartoon booklet on the Gunpowder Plot.


Highly Commended:

Guy Bud for his enjoyable and carefully presented Trafalgar game

Oliver Howard for his informative ICT presentation – an eye witness account of the battle of Trafalgar.

Peter Barnshaw for his unusual and informative ICT presentation on the Gunpowder Plot.


Commended:

Jamie Campbell for his colourful display on Trafalgar.




In the MIDDLE SCHOOL judging proved even more difficult due to the high quality of the entries.

After much deliberation

First Prize
was awarded to:

Oliver Read for his outstanding model of the mast of the Victory with a display of the flags of Nelson’s final signal.

Second Priz
e was awarded to:

Jack Maynard for an immaculately presented and beautifully mounted display on the battle of Trafalgar

Third Prize
was awarded to:

Richard Moon for his detailed and challenging game on the Battle of Trafalgar.

All prize-winning entries are currently on display on the table in the entrance of Mercers’ Court.
